I've just got back from a week long holiday in Ljubljana, where I got the opportunity to try some amazing food. Being right next to Italy, there are a lot of Italian restaurants in Slovenia. On our adventures around Ljubljana, we stumbled across the restaurant Julija, which is an absolute gem! From perfectly cooked fillet steaks to hearty pasta dishes and fresh fish with local vegetables, there's really something to suit everyone's taste. When I went, I couldn't resist the traditional penne with Bolognese sauce. I can honestly say it's some of the best pasta I've ever had-the penne was perfectly cooked and the sauce had just the right amount of tomato. Julija's is rightfully busy every night, so it's definitely worth booking in advance, especially if you want to be able to sit outside on the cobbled streets.
